I FORUM FOR IBERIAN STUDIES


LITERATURE AND NATIONALISM

FACULTY OF MEDIEVAL AND MODERN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE




The Forum for Iberian Studies intends to open a space for discussion in the already constituted fields of Spanish and Portuguese Studies. The Forum intends to create a framework where scholars from minority cultures such as  Catalan, Basque and Galician can meet scholars from Spanish and Portuguese with the common aim of developing future colaboration. The Forum will serve as a place to promote discussion, to establish links and exchange information. The lectors in Catalan, Portuguese and Galician at the University of Oxford are undertaking the organization of the one-day conference on Literature and nationalism. This first event is intended to provide the first chance for scholars and students to meet and discuss the possibilities of establishing more solid links.


The conference will be held at Queen's College (Oxford) on Saturday 4th of May from 11.00 to 5.30. It will include three speakers and a round table.
